Hmmm...

It seems as though I cannot make comments in my own blog. So I will say thank you here for not giving up on me.

Hmmm...let's see, what have I been up to?

December was Christmas, and I held dinner at my place as I did the year before. We had lots of good food and a good time.

January was when I celebrated my birthday - 3 days of it! I had a day off in conjunction with the weekend, seeing as it was a Wednesday. So that night, we went out to dinner, the next night everyone had off so we went out drinking and dancing, and on the third day, I spent four hours at the spa. *sigh* So nice.

This month...well, I had a Mardi Gras party including beads, coins and masks. I made chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, shrimp jambalaya, red beans and rice, black eyed peas, and I even made a King Cake! We even had strawberry daiquiris! Yeah, I got into a bit.

Now? Well Wednesday night I went to a traditional Arabic wedding party. My landlady's oldest daughter is getting married tonight and they have an all-women pre-party before the wedding where everyone wears traditional dress and eats, dances and sings while the bride sits up front looking all lovely. If you clickie my little Flickr badge, there's an absolutely horribly taken photo of the dress I wore that my landlady so selfishly gave me. Maybe if I remember, I'll take another picture (a better one) with it on the hanger. Tonight is the actual wedding and I'll be wearing more normal attire. And brand new shoes of course!

So now I have a wedding card to make, so I am off like a, like a wedding dress!

Your Mardi Gras sounds fabulous. I love all that stuff. My students brought some goodies to class, so I overate dreadfully. It fits well with Fat Tuesday!
